United Way Day of Caring

The United Way Day of Caring brings together local volunteer teams and community organizations for a single day of hands-on support. As your local United Way, our role is to help bridge gaps in our community by supporting the organizations and programs people rely on every day.

Day of Caring is one way we do that. By connecting volunteer teams with non-profits and charities that need extra hands, we help strengthen community supports, respond to real needs and remove barriers that organizations often face due to limited time, staffing, or resources.

Day of Caring is about rolling up sleeves, working together, and strengthening our community through action.

What is Day of Caring?

Day of Caring is a one day volunteer initiative that matches teams from businesses, schools, and community groups with local non-profit organizations in need of support.

Projects are designed to be completed in one day and focus on practical improvements that help organizations better serve the people who rely on them.

Volunteer teams provide the time and energy, and community organizations provide the projects that need extra hands.

Types of Projects

Projects should be safe, well-defined, and manageable within a single day. Common project types include:

  • Interior or exterior painting
  • Gardening, landscaping, and outdoor clean-up
  • Meal preparation or food=related support
  • Minor repairs and basic maintenance
  • Other creative ideas that meet a real community need

If you are unsure whether your project fits, we encourage you to submit it for consideration.
