United Way Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District is addressing the root causes of poverty, working with multiple community partners on strategies which reduce the impact of low income on the health and well-being of individuals and families in our community.

  • Run a Workplace Campaign! Starting a Workplace Campaign is easy and we're here to help you every step of the way.
  • Create a fundraising committee
  • Volunteer as a Canvasser
  • Encourage your employer to participate in United Way's Sponsored Employee Program

For Individuals, Friends & Families

  • Host a third party event for United Way- be creative and have fun with all proceeds benefiting United Way's investments in your community
  • Plan a Day of Caring
  • Volunteer at United Way's Harvest Algoma
  • Join one of our volunteer committees such as: Board of Directors, Campaign Cabinet, Community Investment Committee and Marketing Committee
  • Volunteer as a tax preparer with our Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

For Students

  • United Way seeks to provide a learning environment for students from Algoma University and Sault College. Internship or student placement opportunities may be negotiated in areas related to communications, fund development and social work.
